That’s right, ladies and gentleman! And now, the event you’ve been looking forward to since the day you were born ….

Okay, perhaps you haven’t been waiting that long, but several of you have commented in such a way that led to me to believe that there was some excitement about the launching of the new covers for The Dressmaker’s Secret and Ivy Introspective.

Now, regardless of your excitement – or lack of – continue reading (if you haven’t already skipped ahead to view the covers, beast). After all, the blog tour signups are also opening today, and I have a lot of fun announcements about the party we’ll be having!

Are you ready for the covers?

I bet you are.

I’m really excited to share them with you.

They were made by the wonderful Willowy Whisper. She’s quite amazing.

I bet you’ll like them.

And if you don’t, please keep your mouth shut, because I do, and I don’t want my dreams shattered.

Haha, just kidding. You can be honest as long as you’re not cruel.

By the way, my friends Jesseca, Sarah, and Angela helped me with this cover reveal. Thanks, girls! Y’all have been so sweet and supportive!

Are ya ready?

Nope?

You probably want me to do a number first. You know, the show before the show and all that.

There once was a man named Michael Finnegan

He had whiskers on his chinnegan

The wind blew ‘em out,

The wind blew ‘em in again

Poor old Michael Finnegan

Begin again.

Just kidding. We won’t ‘begin again.’

The time has come! The time is NOW. (Don’t worry; the covers don’t have pictures of a brown cows.)

I’m such a wonderful poet.

What do you think? I’m excited to hear your thoughts!

Now, before you run off, I’d like to plead with you to sign up for my blog tour (if you’re in possession of a blog; that’s really the only requirement).

What is a blog tour?

A blog tour is like a book tour that an author might do when releasing a new novel, only online. Each ‘stop’ on the tour will be a blog.

This blog tour, which will run from June the 20th to June the 30th. It will include a giveaway (which I haven’t decided on the prizes for) and lots of fun vlogs, guest posts, etc. I’m still working out some of the details.

What would you have to do?

Bloggers will post either a review, an author interview, a book spotlight, or one of the other kinds of posts on the appointed day. There is even a guest post option! What the kind of posts are and how they work will be explained in the signup form.

If I don’t have a blog, is there any way I can help you promote your books?

Yes, actually! I’d be happy to give you a review copy in exchange for an honest review on Amazon or Goodreads when the book comes out. Just shoot me an email (kellynroth@gmail.com), and I’ll put you on the review list! Also, you could share about the blog tour on social media.

Where can I sign up?

  1. The covers are absolutely /gorgeous/. Did you do them? They look professional.
Two quick questions: How long will the bog tour sign ups be open for, and are these books a sequel to something, or can I read them by themselves? I have your other book on my kindle, but it’s currently languishing in my TBR.

    1. Willowy Whisper (willowywhisper.com) made them for me. So, yes, they are professional. 🙂
The blog tour signups will be open into mid-June. I’ll probably be sending out review copies before that (or I hope so). TDS and IvIn are the first two books of The Chronicles of Alice and Ivy, but there’re not in anyway connected to The Lady of the Vineyard. So no. 🙂

  2. I’m totally signing up for the tour! Question: Does it record the email you sent it from? Because I’m on my phone right now and it’s connected to my personal email account, which I don’t want you to see. XD I WOULD go on my computer buuuuut today’s a busy day for me and I won’t be able to until sometime this evening. BUT I WANT TO SIGN UP. NOW.
Also the covers are so prettyyyyyyyy. 😀 I mean they’re not my style, but they’re so gorgeous!

    1. No, it doesn’t. You have to enter an email (because I need to send you the information, etc.), but it won’t automatically collect the email of the device you’re on, no.
      Thank you! Yes, they’re very historical-fiction-esque. 😛

        1. I think my article for Project Canvas is up there, too, though I don’t think anyone’s began it yet. But, yes, nerve-wracking! I’m on the editor team, but I’ve got to remember to be very kind … 🙂

                    1. Awww, okay! I just read the title and skimmed over a paragraph or so because I wasn’t supposed to be reading it since I’m not the editor for it. Well, I guess I’ll have to wait until it comes out so I can read about your opinions! 🙂

  3. Both covers are just beautiful! The colors, the objects, and the placings are just right. I especially like the Ivy Introspective cover! The pictures are so captivating, I just want to leap into them (like Steve and Blue do in Blue’s Clues 🙂

    1. Well, finding the perfect cover is really hard! I mean, I’ve been searching for the perfect cover for The Dressmaker’s Secret for three years … now I finally have it! 🙂

  4. I love your covers! <3
Ugh, I really want to do the blog tour, but I'm not sure I'm going to be available for it…. My goal right now is to see if I can do it! 😀

  5. yeSS I CAME BACK IN TIME FOR COVERS *cheers*
*fangirls* I LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM!! see i am nice no dreams shattered cause its TRUEEEE
i wish i could be part of the blog tour but i am not going to be here so 🙁

    1. Thank you! And that’s no problem; I understand that you need to stop blogging for a while (or forever, if that need be). But I really hope you’ll return to blogging someday … I miss you!

  6. Ooh, I’m so excited! Quick question: are the ARCs for reviewers only?
    And those covers are gorgeous!

    1. Don’t tell, but I’ll be offering a free ebook copy of both books to anyone who participates in the tour. 🙂 ARCs are usually for people who are reviewing the book, yes. They’re my almost-but-not-quite finish copies of the book … I still need to proofread, but they’re practically done. I hand them out to reviewers along with my blog tour team.

      1. Kellyn, I am almost positive I signed up for the blog tour, but could you see if I am? I am second guessing myself! 😌

  7. I liked the old covers better, but I do love how the cover for Ivy Introspective includes the piano!
And yes, I need to sign up for the blog tour! There’s just so many choices of days that I don’t know which one to do. 😛

    1. Yes, the piano is one of my favorite parts, too! It just adds a certain something to the cover. (And I get why you’d like the old ones. Simplicity is awesome, and they were really great. I just felt a need to move on, especially as I don’t have back covers for IvIn on, and I haven’t been able to get in contact with my designer.
Well, we can figure it out after a bit. None of the dates are set. I just saw that you signed up … yay! 😀

      1. Yep! It’s pretty. (Ahh, yeah. I don’t think she’s on the YWP anymore anyway.)
Yeah! Although, seriously, I can do any of the dates except for Sundays, so if you need someone to fill in an empty date, you can have me do it. (I just chose random dates.)

        1. (Yeah, I hadn’t seen her in months and I’d even asked around, so … yep.)
Oh, okay! That’s great. I’ll remember that. I don’t know if I’ll have people to fill in on certain dates (I can think of one in particular, so far), but we’ll see. Maybe more people will sign up, though.

          1. (Ahhh.)
Yuppp. I’m good whenever, mostly. (I think you mentioned you had a day that no one had signed up for, right?)

            1. (Yes, but that’s a Sunday, and I know you said you didn’t get Sundays. I had someone – Angela R. Watts – volunteer to take it if no one else signs up.)

  8. Okay, I’ve read the post and form and think you’ve done a marvelous job at explaining everything and answering my questions before I get the chance to ask them. Great! SO I guess I’ll just wait for your reply to my other email about a tentative agreement. I’m not sure if this would be more of a help or a hindrance to you. Just let me know. 🙂

  9. As a graphic designer in my past life I love covers! They say so much about the book and can be a major draw. So smart to pair the blog tour with the cover reveal. As an author you are making such smart choices (in my humble but worthless opinion!) I absolutely love the cover of Ivy Introspective! So pretty with that touch of green and the historical building and keyboard. I do really like the cover of The Dressmaker’s Secret. The combo of the garden and staircase is certainly interesting if a little more obscure.
I signed up for the blog tour after reading your blurbs in Goodreads. It’s so good you already have the new covers in there! I hope you like my proposition and I look forward to hearing from you.

    1. Thank you! I really appreciate it. I’m doing my best to be professional and orderly here, and I’m glad someone thinks I’m succeeding at least in part. 🙂
Yes, the cover for The Dressmaker’s Secret is a little more obscure … it does have meaning, but it’s just not as clear as the cover for Ivy Introspective. 🙂
Yes, I had to talk with Goodreads librarians a bit with TDS (as the old cover had to be replaced), but they were really helpful and prompt. 🙂
I’ll probably be emailing your shortly to figure out all the details of your blog tour post (if you still are able to do it), just because it’s a little more complicated than the other ones and I want to get it all figured out beforehand. 🙂

    1. I would do it over email. I’ll probably send it out in both PDF and MOBI (Kindle) format. I could also send it over Google Docs, too. All emails will remain totally anonymous and not be shared with anyone. 🙂
