Introducing Ivy Knight (Ivy Introspective Book Launch)

by Kellyn Roth |
July 25, 2020

A brief note from Kellyn Roth (the author):

This post is written by Ivy Knight. However, I wanted to come in beforehand and say that this has been a crazy month! And nothing is getting done for various reason.

I feel a ton of guilt over this, as always, and I’m doing what I can for this launch—and praying that’s simply all God intended me to do. If God really wanted me to do more, I would have. There’ll be no dragging myself over glass when I know I did all I could. 😉

That said, I really wanted to publish a lot more posts—share more about Ivy Introspective! So I’m going to try to. But for now, patience, my friends. Patience.

Before you begin this post, for the sake of readability, I gave Ivy a more mature voice in this post than in the book. A bit of a cheat, I know, but I wanted to share her perspective in a fluid way!

Ivy’s Actual Post

Hello! I’m Ivy Knight, and Miss Roth has asked me to come onto her blog and talk about myself. Which is not something I much like to do, but if it’s going to be helpful for you in any way, I suppose I can see why it would be a good idea!

I’m also going to update you on the blog tour, whatever that is, and tell you a bit about my book. I thought Miss Roth had already told you all you’d need to know, but I guess not!

I’d better get started.

I think I already said that I’m Ivy—Ivy Adeline Knight. I’m twelve, I live in England, and I spent most of the book, Ivy Introspective, in Scotland at a place called McCale House.

McCale House was lovely. I didn’t think I wanted to go there at first, but after a bit, I realized how much it could help me.

Of course, having friends helped, too. I met all of the students at McCale House. The one I spent the most time with was Violet Angel. Violet is my best friend, and I love her very much.

She’s not always easy to get along with—but life has been so cruel to her, and I know she doesn’t mean it.

Then there’s Jordy. I don’t know what to say about Jordy, really, except that he is another dear friend, and I love spending time with him! He’s quite fun. I never know what he’s going to do next, which is part of the reason why I love him so.

Dr. and Mrs. McCale, I didn’t give them a fair chance at the start. But once I did, I learned that they were absolutely wonderful.

Really, everyone at McCale House was wonderful! I don’t know if I’ve talked about that enough, but I don’t want to ramble on too much.

It was a pleasure to be a part of this story because I knew that Miss Roth put a lot of work into it. Now, how well that turned out, I don’t know. But I believe that if someone puts even a bit of work into something, we ought to celebrate!

Besides, I don’t think Miss Roth will celebrate her work without help. She’s not the type. So we’ve got to make sure she does!

Anyway, those are most of my thoughts. I’m not really at all sure what I’m supposed to be talking about! So let’s just move onto the rest of the blog post.

ABOUT THE BOOK

In a world that doesn’t understand her, how can she grow?

Ivy Knight lives her life in a blur of confusion as the world passes her by in a tumultuous melody. She isn’t the perfect daughter or student, but as long as she can be with her family, she doesn’t mind watching rather than living.

Mrs. Chattoway treasures both of her granddaughters now that they’re reunited. When Ivy’s parents enroll her in a Scottish school for unique children, she’s happy to chaperone.

In a new place with a new guardian, Ivy discovers a special talent that helps her see the blurred world in a new way. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel, and Ivy becomes determined to find it—and help others do the same.
