As you probably know, Voices of the Future: Stories of Courage & Compassion released last week, and I am still in celebration mode!
Getting to be a part of this awesome anthology with the Author Conservatory has been amazing, and I’m thrilled to say that we have sold 500+ books thus far … and are continuing to accumulate more sales.
Which is amazing, considering this is basically the writer equivalent of a school fundraiser, only all the money is going to us, the students, so we are able to pursue our dreams.
Speaking of VOICES of the future … did you know that my short story in the collection involves finding your voice?
Yeah, I know! Isn’t that funny?! And what’s great about it is, I didn’t know the title when I wrote the short story. So it was a happy surprise!
The main character of my short story in the collection, If Ye’d Only Say, is Bob Owen, a Scottish son of a shop owner who is struggling to stand up to his father … and tell his lass, Ena, how much he adores her.
If you’d like to read up on Bob and his journey to speaking up for himself and those he loves, you can buy a copy directly from me here or on Amazon!
TTFN!

Kell, I love that you wrote about finding one’s voice before you even knew the title of the collection included “voice”! It’s very neat y’all have already sold 500+ books! I hope the same happens so quickly for our upcoming Novelists in November! That would be amazing. I’m on the second story in Voices now. Looking forward to reaching Bob and Ena’s story, but I’m trying to wait until I read all the other stories first. Such a difficult challenge, as Ena is one of my favorites of your characters! Do you have any plans for more Ena (and Bob) stories?
Thank you, Andrea! It was kin of a fun discovery. And yes, I hope so, too! That’d be great. The marketing style is a little different, though I am implementing some things I learned from that launch.
Aw, thank you! You know, I’m not sure about Bob and Ena – I would like to, but only if a story presented itself.
