In Which I Try to Improve Myself

anewschedule

A couple days ago, I drummed up a new schedule for my *clears throat important* personal improvement.
I’m getting up at 6:30 every morning (except on the weekends).
I’m going to bed at 10:30 (well, more like 11:30 … or later … but I’m trying).
I’m getting all my jobs done earlier than I did before.
However, most importantly, I’m allotting special times for writing, editing, blogging, training Riley, practicing my clarinet, reading the Bible, and all that other lovely stuff … most of which I actually enjoy doing but just don’t get time for!
I decided to share a copy of my schedule with you. I’ve posted it on my board in my room (along with all my goals and stuff), so it’s official. 🙂

Most of the times are approximate. For instance, I claimed that I’m not going to be done with school and lunch until 2:00. Weeeeell, today I was down at 1:30 and most days it’s earlier. However, am I changing the schedule? No. Why? Because giving myself extra time is really working for me.

Well, that’s all for today, folks! I know this was short, but as a general rule there will be shorter posts on Fridays. So. Here we are on a Friday. Being brief. *bows*

  1. This is so good and organized. I loved reading your schedule. I want to do something similar for myself, to find a morning a night routine and to plan time for each task, instead of just doing whatever comes to mind. Great changes!

    1. Well, I’m homeschooled and my mom has a great schedule so I can get all my school done in a year. I think it mostly has to do with the fact that other homeschoolers take lots of breaks mid-year from their school year and we go all the way through so we can have a three-month long summer break along with Christmas and such. 🙂

      1. I’m homeschooled too but I use an online public high school. Plus this year I have AP exams that all schoolers take (home and public) and so I have to be done by May to take those exams D: those classes are currently killing me!! But that sounds awesome keep going!

        1. I imagine that would be difficult. My mom says this is my hardest year … and I’ve only got one more year of highschool (I’m not doing senior year because I’m ahead), so … I’m pretty much in the clear. 😉 Of course, then comes college, assuming I go … but, yeah, I can’t imagine doing both home and public school!

          1. Oh are you a junior?? (16-17 yrs old) or are you just totally awesome and ahead of the game haha. Yeah luckily I don’t go to school and do virtual school (some do!) but I do have to follow some sort of credit schedule that is similar to public a school. I know kids on virtual school who graduated from high school at age 12! College is coming fast for me. Im a junior so it’s been stressful!

            1. No, I’m sophomore, but I’m not doing senior year. I’ll just graduate about my junior year. Wow, 12?! How is that even possible!?!? My little brother is twelve. *jawdrops*
Yeah, it’s not far away for you! I hope you’re able to make all the right decisions and stuff. Honestly, I’m a little worried about college … I might just take some classes at the community college here at first and figure out where I want to go with my life. It’s a big decision, and I don’t want to waste money if I’m not going to take a course that would actually, you know, help my future career. 😉

              1. Ooh I see! And yeah my reaction. I don’t know if it’s smart to graduate THAT early but hey whatever works? And thanks! Just working hard and placing my trust in God.
Your career has already begun pretty much! I can’t point to a book and say I wrote that but you can point to several books! I wish you very well Kellyn and may God give us both clarity on where He wants us to go in this next big chapter!

  2. You got yourself a fine-looking schedule there, Miss Roth. I’ve been taking up making everyday schedules myself, because I really need to work on time management and stuff. And AGH THAT’S NOT FAIR YOU HAVE SO MUCH TIIIIIIIIIME THIS IS WHY I DON’T LIKE SCHOOOOOOOOOOOL

        1. *pats back* Seriously, though, there are downsides to homeschooling. Like, I never really got into sports as much as I would have had I been in public school (I love sports, and I’ve played in a couple teams, but I didn’t really get along with my teammates – I can never seem to convince people that I’m normal, go figure … XD – and so yeah, just wasn’t fun. So yeah. There are downsides!

              1. “Time can be boring”. XD True. But also not true. I would agree when you have like nothing to do, or when you waste it, but not when you really need it! XD

                  1. XD But what if you really NEED to practice clarinet? And you don’t have time to do that because you had school the whole day, and now you have homework and extracurriculars and everything???
(What a great debate we have going on here. XD )

                    1. Well, I can’t see myself needing to practice it so much … but I guess if I actually needed to, then yes. Though my dad tells me I really stink at it and need to practice … hehehe. (And now, that doesn’t make me feel bad … that’s actually the kind of critiquing I respond to best. XD Not really, but … from my parents, anyway. If they’re just like, “Kell, you might want to polish up a little …” then I won’t even bother because GOOD NUFF but if they are honest, I’m like, “*sigh* Okay … I’ll actually try ….”)
(And yeah, sure are! 😛 )

                    2. XD I need to practice piano, because then when I go to my lessons and don’t really know what the notes are, I mess up and get embarrassed and yeah. XD

                    3. Yeah, clarinet is pretty cool. Not everyone agrees with me … my cousins give me this look when I’m like, “Yes … I’m still playing the clarinet …” XD

                    4. XD All instruments are cool, I think! I mean, can YOU (talking to an invisible person here) play the piano? The clarinet? The flute? The violin? SEE HOW COOL IT IS???

  3. Awesome! I try to come up with schedules but they never work…I do need to figure out something to do to improve my time management, though…any ideas? *is kind of jealous of how short your school is…and how much reading time you have…but I shouldn’t be because, well, God will help me make time to do things* I guess I’m not sure whether to make a hard and fast schedule or not…but I hope that your schedule will turn out well. I believe in you! 😀

    1. Thank you! 🙂 Hmm … schedules rarely work for me anyway. I have an idea that this one will fade in time if I’m not very careful about it. But I’m going to try my best. 🙂

  4. It’s really cool that you’re able to organize what you need to do so well! And honestly I’m so jealous that you have so much time? Like most schooldays I get home at 9 and have to be in bed at 10 and have an hour of homework every night ?

  5. i never stick to my schedules… lol! DONE BY SCHOOL WITH TWO HOWWWWWW
oops… i mean done with school by two… LOL!
but still. you are honestly making me want to beg my parents to homeschool me now.
