TDS and IvIn Blog Tour: Day 6

Here I am on this glorious (103 degree) Sunday afternoon, writing this post and wishing I was in England. Where 80 degrees is a heat wave, according to one of my English friends. Or Scotland. I’d rather be in Scotland than England, to be honest. Or Ireland. Either one.
Seriously, though, I don’t mind the heat. It isn’t accompanied by tremendous humidity here like in some states, so it’s not unbearable. It’s great for swimming (even though I’ve yet to swim this year, haha).
Today we have a vlog (yippy?! It made this post ridiculously late because it takes ten years to upload, but that’s all right …), and I’ll also be talking a little bit about my plans for spin-off short stories/novellas for this series.

Today’s Post Is …

Dani has really been amazing. She managed to make this (somewhat stressed) author feel confident that everything would go right. She offered to take a day which I had no blogger on. She asked me (or rather Nettie) a bunch of interesting questions. She created a gorgeous spotlight that really gives you a good idea about who Nettie is as a person.

So thank you, Dani! It was so wonderful to have you on the tour!

Let’s Talk About Spin-offs

It’s no secret to anyone here that I love the characters of The Chronicles of Alice and Ivy. They are some of my favorite people in the world (which is sad, as they are in fact fictional, but moving on).
And, when an author is attached to certain characters but her series arc doesn’t allow her to write about them, she starts thinking spin-off!
More specifically, I’m thinking of The Chronicles of Alice and Ivy, #s 0.3, 0.5, 2.5, 3.5, 4.5, and … others.
It’s somewhat complicated. I explained about it a little in this vlog:

So yes. Now you know about Sail Away. Well, a little more. I may have talked about it before …
But what are my other ideas? Well, one is called 100 Facts About an Angel. It’s about Ned Knight. (If you have a guess about what it’s about, comment! If someone gets remotely close, I’m going to give you an ebook copy for TDS. Because you deserve it.)
Then there will be a book about a certain character of AFOP (At Her Fingertips) who didn’t get a happy ending. And needs one. *sobs*
Basically, there may be a lot of these stories and some of them will be for this blog/my newsletter only, and some may be published. We’ll see. (And yes, you can ask me about them in the comments because I can’t keep my mouth shut …)

And … that’s it for today!

Thanks for reading,

p.s.

What did you think of Dani’s character interview/spotlight? I thought it was splendid! Did you enjoy Nettie’s answers? (She’s pretty straight-forward, so it wasn’t too exciting.) My favorite part was making up (er, recounting) an incident from Alice’s earlier childhood. I’ve always wanted to write about a toddler Alice …

  1. Awesome vlog!! 😀 Sail Away sounds sweet! I don’t have any Irish in my blood so a story with that… wowza. 😉
Ned. *gasp* Ahh man, I don’t know what that’d be about. Hopefully he finds a love, though. 😉

  2. Ooooh, that’s a fun vlog! I love to create spinoffs too…but I don’t think as much as you do, haha! Sail Away sounds cool, although I don’t really remember much about Cassie…you should tell me about her! And 100 Facts About an Angel has a fantastic title. Is it about Mrs. Knight (Hazel) from TDS?? That would be awesome. And sad.
OH OH I KNOW WHO IT IS FROM AFOP I’M SO EXCITEDDD (also I am immensely pleased that you used AFOP!). Yay!

    1. I create waaay too many spinoffs. It’s ridiculous, quite frankly. Cassie is Alice’s Irish BFF who is shy and Irish and … quite honestly her personality needs developing. 😛
And yes, it is about Hazel … sort of. I mean, she’s dead in the story, but … still. That was pretty close! You’ll be getting an ebook at the end of the tour, though … for participating ….
YES AFOP! I love that abrieviation … abbrieviation … abrieviatian … XD

      1. Oooh shy and Irish I love her already. (Mainly because of the shy. But Irish is great too. 😉 )
Well, I knew that…unless maybe she came back as a ghost or something! Or not a ghost, I guess, an angel instead… Ha, well, I still got close. 🙂
YESSS AFOP WILL RULE! Abbreviation, I think…you were close, though. 😛
