Beyond Her Calling, Blog Tour: Day 7

by Kellyn Roth |
October 26, 2018

Hey y’all! This is the last official post of the blog tour before the wrapup tomorrow evening!

Sorry for it getting out so late. I worked from 10 AM until pretty much now today, so yep. Tomorrow’s post will be similar – only even later. (Gym meet!)

Today is future day! That means we’re talking about future publications, books I’m writing next, etc. (NaNoWriMo is literally JUST around the corner! I can’t believe it!)

Unofficial Blurb

A clean and pure Christian historical romance with:

-friendship to romance (which is actually based on love)

-mental disabilities rep

-Scotland

-awkwardness

-kittens

-cows (and being afraid of cows)

-BORDER COLLIES

-small adorable children

-more Scotland

-awesome families

-siblings and best friends and both at once

Today’s Posts

A Review // Abigail McKenna @ Novels, Dragons, and Wardrobe Doors

Psych and Beyond Her Calling have nothing in common … until today.Β ? Gotta love this review with its GIFs and awesomeness!

She brought up something I’d never thought about before:

I find it kind of funny that Ivy and Jordy’s personalities are almost swapped from Alice and her husband’s.Β  Like, Alice is the outgoing, sassy one and her husband is the sweet and loving, and Jordy’s the sassy one and Ivy the sweet.Β  Idk, I thought it was cool.

I mean, I knew Peter and Ivy were like 100% similar, but still.

Another Review // Gracelyn Buckner @ Literatura

That was such a sweet review! ❀ My favorite quote:

IΒ lovedΒ the themes throughoutΒ Beyond Her Calling.Β They were extremely prevalent, but not so prevalent that it felt forced or preachy.

A Third Review // Katherine Brown Books

A very sweet, thorough review! Katherine is new to my tours, and it was great to have her!Β ? I love her style of reviewing, which is fresh and unique.

Now I think we ought to pay tribute to this:

I laughed out loud and had to email Kellyn my delight when Jordy, Dr. McAllen, was in the barn arguing with himself internally as follows:Β He didn’t like blondes that much anyway.Β Then in walks Ivy, completely unaware, her hair catching a beam of sunlight and the next thing we know from Jordy:Β He grudgingly admitted that blondes were the prettiest of all women.

I have now counted fourΒ people who pointed that line out! I didn’t realize it was so funny when I wrote it.Β ? But okay then!

A Fourth Review // Bella Putt

Great review! Favorite quote:

Kellyn did such a great job incorporating Christ into this story. Almost every character was struggling with something, and they all turned to God, which encouraged Ivy in her pain.

Future Day

Here are my plans for novels in the future!

  • The Kees & Collier series

Souls Astray – May 2019

The prequel novella to the Kees & Colliers series.

The Lady of the Vineyard – June 2019

Rewriting and relaunching!

Flowers in Her Heart – July 2019

Rewriting and relaunching!

From Now ‘Til Forever – August 2019

A brand-new short story set just about WW2!

  • Baby Mine

Coming April 2019 –

When her estranged father and impoverished mother get into aΒ  court battle over custody, five-year-old Amaliya is afraid. God has always taken care of them, but now He seems her have abandoned her!

This 9K short story will be ebook only. (And yes, that is the final cover! Do you like it?)

  • The Chronicles of Alice and Ivy

The Dressmaker’s Secret

I’m doing another quick polish of this novel … and it will be relaunched, professionally edited and reformatted, in October 2019.

Ivy Introspective

Same as above, only the edit is going to be a lot more minor, hopefully.

A Prayer Unanswered

This is book 5 of the series! So far, it’s been a wild ride. I’ve written about 39K, but about 50% of that is going to go and the rest be rewritten.

Still, I’ve got a bit of a start! I don’t plan to launch until 2021-ish, but we’ll see.

Only a Mother

I’m currently just in the brainstorming/outlining stages, but I’m super pumped for it!

  • The 2019 Four

Next year my plan is to write the first drafts of four novels.

Word of Honor

A romance set just after WW2.

Sail Away

A spin-off to The Chronicles of Alice and Ivy. This one features Cassie O’Connell, Alice’s BFF.Β ?

Alone in Berlin

More post-WW2 fiction, this time set in, well, Berlin. This one is about a little girl whose Nazi parents commit suicide leaving her alone.

It also involves some Texans – including a spunky cowgirl nurse and a city boy who tells everyone he’s a cowboy ’cause why not?

Water Against the Rocks

Set in my hometown during WW2, this novel is near and dear to my heart! I can’t wait to share it with you.

  • Other Plans

I’m going to be submitting Once a Stratton to agents after it gets one last run-through! Exciting, right? It’s partially for the experience, honestly, but if I do end up landing an agent, coolio!Β ?

Non-writing-related, Reveries Co. (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) will be launching its website this Sunday over social media. I’m hoping to follow up with a blog post Monday, but we’ll see how that goes!

Remember …

The Reluctant Disciple and Blood Moon RedemptionΒ are going on tour!

  1. It looks like you are very busy! I’m publishing Hide and Seek in November and writing a sequel in November for NaNoWriMo. I also have some other plot bunnies for 2019… but those are just blurry, vague ideas that sound cool. XD How do you get so much done in one year??
