April 2018 Dares

I don’t want March to be over yet. *sniffles* April is going to be super busy, and March was slightly more restful than months past (what with our spring break, having most ofย  this week off work due to the school’s spring break, and now Easter).

On the other hand … I’m excited for April! With Camp NaNo and publishing At Her Fingertips (SQUEEEEEE!), it’s going to be packed full … but I’m going to survive! Somehow! Magically!

Now, because I can’t resist telling you one more time, the signups for the At Her Fingertips blog tour are now open! If you have a blog and would like to help me out, click here and sign up!

Stuff Thatโ€™s Happened in March

    • (So far it’s just been a pain, but I look to the future.)
  • Last Days of Jesus.

    • Just taking a moment to proud of my hometown for hosting a big public play to celebrate the last days of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on earth.
    • The crucifixion was yesterday. The sound system wasn’t as bad as it was last year!
    • Although at one point “Jesus” forgot to turn off his headset after he went into the courthouse, so we heard an audible, “Where’s the crown?”
    • It wouldn’t be the Last Days without little goof-ups like that …

Reading

  • Cut back on reading as much as you can.
    • I know … this isn’t a reading goal!
    • It’s more like an anti-reading goal!
    • But you know what? Reading is time-consuming!
    • Yeah, that’s my only argument …
  • Focus on WW2 research.
    • Water on the Rocks is coming your way!
    • You know … someday …

Writing

  • Publish At Her Fingertips.
    • THIS IS GOING TO BE SO AMAZING AND HUGE AAAAAH!!!
    • I have plans for a giveaway with first, second, and third prizes as well as minor prizes.
    • I’m going to be suffering from the budget-breakers for years to come.
  • Write 10K of Once a Stratton.
    • It’s going to be a challenge, but I’m going to do my very best.

dividerforreveries

Blogging

  • Host a blog tour.
    • This is legit all I can do this month.
    • Between one thing and another, I need to let myself do less.
    • That’s basically all there is to it …

dividerforreveries

Life

  • Read the Bible.
    • I need to if I’m going to keep my head above water this month anyway …
  • Try to chillax. At least a bit.
    • This is going to be the hardest goal ever.
    • (Someone telling me I’m going to be all right???)

Why so minimalistic?

To be honest, I am super stressed-out right now. Just about everything. Always worrying, never at rest, never content.

I’m also really disappointed in myself 99% of the time. I wouldn’t say I have low self-esteem, but that I have a high opinion of myself and therefore am always disappointed.

I feel unwanted and unneeded a lot of the time. I feel like I’ve been fighting an uphill battle with no ground made. I just don’t have a desire to fight anymore.

Soooo … I’m trying to give myself less to do and see if that works? Who knows.

Well, I’ll see you Wednesday! Thanks for reading and have a great Easter!

(Also, I take issue with this whole ‘Resurrection Day’ thing? Like, c’mon, sisters and brothers! That just puts the holiday on an unapproachable level for non-Christians and furthers the gap!) (And it’s too hard to say!)

(Also, I don’t understand why anyone can not celebrate Christmas and have a clean conscience! How do you live with yourself?)

(I’ll hate myself in the morning but this needs to be said.)

(Okay, it’s eleven, and I need to schedule this now. My brain is dead.)

TTFN!

What do you think of my thoughts?

  1. So I can definitely relate to the whole feeling you were getting with yourself. I’m hoping to relax a bit during this next week (my Easter break!!) and get a lot of stuff done. Then maybe I can stop pressuring myself to do more as my finals (PATs. Scary.) approach. ?
Yeah, I’m really tired too. I don’t think I really mention this on my blog, but I’m in my Church’s choir, and there was a looooooooooot of singing to do on Thursday and Friday. (I love doing the singing, but then the past 2 days are just always… tiring? And all solemn and stuff. So it seems to wear me out more.)

    1. Sorry! Hopefully you’ll be able to get through it quickly and easily. Though thank goodness for Easter breaks! ๐Ÿ˜€
Yeah, I get that. Best of luck with church choir! That’s lots of fun. I always wanted to be a part of a church choir, but I can’t sing to save my life. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. Yes I’m excited for At Her Fingertips! I signed up for your blog tour! ๐Ÿ™‚
And I’m doing Nano, but I had like no prep beforehand so I am just finishing my project that I didn’t finish in November so I can use my notes and outline I already had ready because I’m lazy. ๐Ÿ˜›
And I feel like I’ve read a lot this month because I did a challenge the first week of the month where I had to read 1,000 pages in a matter of days which I never usually do and it was really fun.
And now my Goodreads goal says I’m two books ahead but now I think that I might not actually be that ahead because one was a short story (It was yours actually, The Lady of the Vineyard.) ๐Ÿ™‚ and one was one I DNF’d but I counted it anyway because I did actually read some of it. But now I feel like that was cheating? XD Idk.

    1. Yay! I’m so glad we’ll get to have you! ๐Ÿ˜€
LOL, well, I’m trying to at least half-finish a novel I wrote about 30K of last summer. ๐Ÿ˜› So … I’m not a lot better! I don’t have notes, though … just winging it! *is going to die*
Sounds fun! What books did you read? I might do some sort of reading challenge this summer …
Well, it’s ALMOSt a novella, so you can count it. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I count all short stories as a full-length book just ’cause otherwise I would fail the Goodreads challenge! ๐Ÿ˜› ๐Ÿ˜‰

      1. I read all of The Lady of the Vineyard, Blackthorn Winter by Kathryn Reiss, and Once Upon a Kiss by Robin Palmer. And part of Ice Like Fire by Sara Raasch, How to be Brave by E. Katherine Kottaras, and Geekerella by Ashley Poston, all in like 13 days. XD.
And oooooh a reading challenge would be fun! ๐Ÿ˜‰
And oh, I tagged you for the 20 Questions Book Tag on my blog if you want to see. ๐Ÿ™‚
        https://frozenbooksblog.blogspot.com/2018/04/the-20-questions-book-tag.html

  3. Ooh can’t wait to see your blog being published! I’m pretty new to your blog so I won’t sign up for the tour coz I wanna see how a book launch works for now.

    1. Hi there! Aww, thanks! It will be great to have you are … we’re gonna have giveaways and such, so I hope it will be fun even for people who aren’t blogging about it. ๐Ÿ™‚
