Wow, already day 3? I find that almost hard to believe, but we’re here, folks!
The launch celebrations are continuing … and tomorrow the book will officially be live. In the meantime, I’ve got a fun post for you with a few new blog tour entries, the giveaway, and some talk about love interests. (Don’t worry! No spoilers!)
ABOUT THE BOOK
She’s willing to do anything to follow her plan.
Debutante Alice Knight is ready for her first social season in London. She’s determined to impress society and her mother with an affluent match, at last escaping her past and embracing a future of her own making.
Peter Strauss, an American reporter visiting England, isn’t exactly what Alice had in mind. However, his friendship proves invaluable as Alice faces the challenges of her debut. Almost immediately, she attracts the attention of a well-born gentleman—perfect save for the simple fact that he’s not a Christian.
The life she longs for is finally at her fingertips, but between her own heart and the convictions of her faith, she isn’t sure she ought to grasp it.

So as I mentioned, today I wanna talk about love interests.
And for this book, well, it’s more complicated than you think. Because instead of being a normal person …
I decided to give Alice not one, not two, but THREE possible love interests.
And being the kind of person I am, again, well … I couldn’t make it obvious who she’d actually end up with! Because, otherwise, what’s the point?!
Yet I despise love triangles …
Essentially, I am a walking case of hypocrisy. The Pharisees are proud of me.
So let’s introduce these eligible (ish) bachelors!
Gibson Ashfield
Gibson is the dark horse in this race – I don’t talk about him a lot, but he’s a charming and interesting gentlemen who a lot of people in this recent draft have claimed to like … ish.
He’s one of those characters you rather love to hate and hate to love! And he’s so much fun to write, so I couldn’t very well leave him under-developed.
Here’s a few things about Gibson.
- He loves shooting and dogs and all those other masculine British things.
- However, he would probably resent you if you told him he was basic.
- His best friend, Aubrey Montgomery, is one of those “how did they ever become friends?” friendships.
- Writing him is so much fun because his voice is just so bouncy and cheerful!
- He also has a lowkey ADHD vibe which is just … loads of fun.
Peter Strauss
Peter is pretty much my favorite character. Everyone loves him, and I can see why. He’s that sweetheart of a guy that everyone wants to confide in and love and take care of.
My biggest problem when writing Peter? He’s too nice. Too kind. Too sweet. Yes, he’s a pushover, but women have a hard time seeing that as a fault. (Do I intend to correct that character flaw in my readers? Oh, yes, I do.)
Peter being American is also fun – and he’s half-German, too, which was fun to research. Anyways, I will ramble all day about Peter if I’m allowed, so now is as good a time as any to stop. But suffice to say, he’s a gem.
Kirk Manning
A fan favorite if ever there was one, Kirk is the guy who’s mentioned in every review … and I can’t seem to get a handle on that fact.
Because no matter what I do, I CAN’T SHUT Y’ALL UP ABOUT HIM.
Which makes me like him less, lol.
Basically, Kirk is Alice’s childhood friend. He’s stubborn, a bit presumptuous, but he knows her well, and they’re very alike. Kirk knows all about Alice’s childhood and past which means a lot of the mystery is gone – and I do love a bit of comfort.

P.S.
Who are your favorite love interests in various books? What, to you, makes a fictional couple special? Feel free to ask questions directed toward Kirk, Gibson, and Peter in the comments. 😀

UH-UH. NO YOU DIDN’T! Kirk is MY BOY and you MUST like him because he is PERFECT. Nuff said.
Weeeeeellll, sorry, but I can’t help my own poor taste! 😉
XD To be honest, though, I get it. I have a lot of characters *coughs* Xavier *coughs* that I’m not a huge fan of, but that everyone else raves about. *shrugs* Strange, that.
“Because no matter what I do, I CAN’T SHUT Y’ALL UP ABOUT HIM. Which makes me like him less, lol.”
Hahahaha. I think sometimes that just happens with authors … too much love on one character is overwhelming.
And I’m grumpy at Gibson, so I have nothing to say to him. 🙂
FOR REAL, THOUGH! I can’t make people be quiet, so instead I get quiet. 😉 But he isn’t a bad guy, and I will still write his story.
Understandably so, on Gibson. 😛
Haha, this is so great Kell. Also, I’ve seen people saying that you didn’t make a love triangle, you made a love square. So there is that. xD Kirk and Peter are my favorite, obviously. But poooor Kirk! *That* plot twist I did not see coming, and I feel so bad for him!
I KNOW! I feel bad, too, in a way … but I also have the gleeful evil author gene, so I’m not entirely repentant. 😛 And yes, that’s true – it is more of a love square. I have done weird things, plainly.
Haha! You have. Congrats my evil author friend. *bows*
*bows back*
Wait, hold up. Kirk is the fan favorite? Hmm, interesting. Don’t get me wrong, I do like him! He’s fun and I love him as Alice’s friend, but I was too caught up in Peter to even have room for Kirk in my review… So, I guess mine was a breath of Kirk-free air? ;P
Haha, yep, it was! xD
Yes, everyone loves Kirk! I don’t really get it either, but since they do … what can I do? 😛
